SVC-476

If you have an SL account… and have a minute spare… could you please please please vote on this bug.

Out of 33 events there is one that is returning the wrong variable. Unfortunately it seems to be a little used variable as this was reported in July 07 and no one has been assigned to even look at it.

Maybe this is due to my latest project requiring it to actually work the way it’s supposed to, (high expectations I know) but if this was any other event not functioning correctly it would be fixed in no time. It is equivalent to say id not working in a listen, were listens to develop this very same bug then a major chunk of the scripting within Second Life would instantly break. I am not saying that if it were fixed then control would become as widespread as listens, but there would be a lot of scripts developed with control built in.

I think it’s holding back possible development into new fields of user interfaces. The reason I want this particular bug fixed is due to one project, but knowing that this is a bug, means I have thought up at least 20 other things that could potentially make use of this if it were fixed, and the nature of scripters being scripters.. I am sure there are hundreds and possibly thousands of other potential uses for it.

control(key id, integer held, integer change)

On the possibility that I am wrong that this is a bug. (a bug report would suggest I am right here) Can anyone please explain to me the use of having the owners key returned as id?
